DJ Steven, founder of Metropolis to perform in New York for a second consecutive year.

New York – December 1, 2011 – We are pleased to release this official information about a very notable upcoming event that will take place on December 1, 2011 starting at 10:00pm at Sullivan Room NYC (218 Sullivan Street).

2B NYC, a name that sums up a series of elegant and vibrant events based in New York is once again on the move. With recent appearances in Miami and Cacao Beach (Bulgaria), 2B NYC artists have been making a strong mark on worldwide nightlife. Under the helm of BEDO an Boji, for the second consecutive year in a row, DJ STEVEN (METROPOLIS / Bulgaria) is arriving in the city that never sleeps.

Steven’s long biography dates back to 1990 when he was first introduced to turntables and inspired by the likes of Grandmaster Flash and Afrika Bambaataa. He won the first ever Bulgarian DMC championship in 1993 and went on to compete at the world finals in 1994 at the Ministry Of Sound in London. With the rise of house and techno, Steven got more and more interested in the even flow of the kick drum. All this plus the pure sound energy of German legends Krafwerk made him spin lots of house & techno music in his sets.

Today, DJ Steven is a name that doesn’t only ring familiarity in every single Bulgarian clubber’s ears but to some of the biggest and most accomplished names in the industry, who have had a chance to work with him. Carl Cox, Sven Vath, Josh Wink, Loco Dice, Umek, Chris Liebing, Sharam, John Digweed, Nick Warren, and many many others have shared the stage with DJ Steven during performances of large scale, in front of thousands of people. Along with his performances amongst the best, Steven prides himself as being the founder of Metropolis Music – one of the biggest promoting agencies in Eastern Europe. Metropolis are billed as the pioneers of electronic music in Bulgaria and are responsible for the first ever series of street parades in the country. In 2011, Steven also became a proud club owner, opening the doors to “Element”, which in its first couple of months was visited by Umek, Paul Ritch, Mihalis Safras, Chris Liebing, Fabrizio Maurizi, Butch Joe T Vanelli and Len Faki and many more, who took the stage alongside DJ Steven. With undisputed quality, knowledge and understanding of music, Steven has been the source of energy and love for many people through his music and has shared the stage with some of the best artists in the world.

Steven will take the booth at the famous, Sullivan Room. A venue that is credited as being the mecca for underground electronic music in New York. A simple idea that packs heart, soul, and passion under one roof. A beautiful sound system giving artists chills and dancers, euphoria! Along with Steven, 2B NYC’s own, BEDO will play along and set the tone for the big man. The night will be opened by Sullivan Room resident DJ Lev and will be closed by Sleepy & Boo (Basic NYC) – the household name in NYC electronic music nightlife.
